Instructional Coach (0.8 FTE)

The role of the Instructional Coach and Math Facilitator is to support and develop instruction throughout the K-8 school. The Instructional Coach works one-on-one and in small groups with teachers, providing guidance, training, professional development, and other resources as needed. Through observation, targeted feedback, modeling, and co-planning, the Instructional Coach works with the Teacher to focus on practical strategies for engaging students and improving their learning.

Qualifications:

– Master’s degree
– 5 years of successful teaching experience
– Teaching certification
– Teacher support/development/coaching experience preferred
– Experience supporting teachers with a workshop model of literacy instruction as well as guided reading, interactive read alouds, and interactive writing
– Ability to create a positive, warm, supportive environment based on high expectations that engages, encourages, and motivates teachers
– Ability to work effectively with adult learners
– Ability to skillfully offer constructive feedback to facilitate change
– Demonstrated lifelong learner who models continuous improvement and goes above and beyond to ensure student success
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Strong organizational skills
– Ability to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problems
– Key characteristics include: patient, understanding, collaborative, flexible thinker, analytical, data-driven
